The West Wyoming Recreation Board

The recreation board is a group whose activities include but are not limited to maintaining our three borough parks, distributing Halloween treats to the children, hosting occasional elementary school dances, hosting the Christmas house lighting contest and providing Christmas lighting at Dailey Park and Eighth St. corners as well as adding some new pole lights each year. In the spring they also sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Membership is open so please consider volunteering a few hours a month by becoming a member. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.

Shirley Malloy Memorial Golf Tournament

Shirley Malloy dedicated over thirty years working to improve West Wyoming’s recreational facilities for children through her efforts on the Recreation Board. On September 26, the Shirley Malloy Memorial Golf Tournament will continue her efforts and raise funds to enable the West Wyoming Recreation Board to purchase new playground equipment for area children. The golf outing will take place at Applewood golf course followed by a Clambake at West Wyoming Hose Company #1. The format is Captain and two mates with a cost of $75 per golfer, to attend the clambake only, the cost is $25. Every golfer will receive a gift bag and the outing will feature great prizes including a chance to win a trip and a $10,000 cash prize, premium golf equipment, electronic package, airline tickets, a cruise for two or a Seiko Watch. Outing is open to first 66 paid golfers. The Clam Bake will feature a buffet dinner, clams, beverages and ice cream.

 Anyone wishing to donate a prize for the Shirley Malloy Golf Tournament can do so by dropping off the prize at Eighth St. Mulch with Arch Eshelman IV or see Jimmy Dennis at Cade's Coins. The prizes will be raffled off at the clambake /golf tournament . Public is invited to golf or just attend the clambake. Proceeds will go directly to helping purchaser a major piece of playground equipment for the children of the borough.
