Abrahams Creek Watershed Association Awarded Grant
Abrahams Creek Watershed Association

The Abrahams Creek Watershed Association has been awarded a grant from the PA American Water Company. With the funding, the organization will expand efforts to improve water quality and control runoff by restoring riparian buffers along several tributaries within the Abrahams Creek watershed. The project also includes continuing the group’s newsletter series to help educate local residents about storm water management, pollution control and issues related to improving the health of the creek. The Abrahams Creek initiative brings together numerous partners, including Wyoming and West Wyoming boroughs, Luzerne Conservation District, Wyoming Area Environmental Club and Pennsylvania State Cooperative Extension. Funding for this project and other initiatives of the Abrahams Creek Watershed would not be possible without the support and assistance of Senator Ray Musto and Representative Phyllis Mundy. "I'm proud of the work the Abrahams Creek Watershed Association has done and continues to do to improve Abrahams Creek and to educate residents about the benefits of a healthy watershed.  My thanks to Pennsylvania American Water for recognizing the efforts of the watershed association through the award of the grant, the second from the company in consecutive years,” says Senator Musto.
